Youkobo Art Space
Youkobo Art Space
Centered around an artist in residence (AIR) which provides studios and accommodation to domestic and international artists, and a non-profit gallery for the presentation of artwork (run this year by artist unit Kubochi), Youkobo has welcomed a large number of international artists, growing to become a venue for the cultural and artistic exchange between, and diverse presentations of young creators.

Murakami Kaoru
Kaoru Murakami has studied oil painting and copperplate printing in a contemporary art context in the UK. For this exhibition, she will tell a story which takes the difficulties of re-experiencing the memories of others as its theme.

Boris Sirka
Boris Sirka (Slovakia) will join a three-month artist exchange program organized between the European Capital of Culture and Youkobo. His work will also be shown in Zenpukuji Park.

Combining used light bulbs and picture postcards once belonging to others, Kaoru Murakami will create an installation which, while switching between documentary and fiction, brings us to question the dangers of forgetting and remembering in recreations of reality.

Boris Sirka (Slovakia) will be developing a new series of paintings and ink drawings throughout the Trolls exhibition. His work is also on display in Zempukuji Park.
