《水平へ》Toward the Horizontal

私は、降りつづける

眠っているあいだも、私の人格は私の外で複製され、雨のように降りつづけている

存在はデータにあてがわれ、像となり、現実を形成する。その像が膨張しつづける世界のなかで、水平に惹かれた私は、大地のような壁に叩きつけられ、灰となる。だが、灰となった像は新たな像と混ざり合い、再び循環する

157体の像は、ひとつの場所を一途に愛するように、深く情に落ち、何度でもそこへ還っていく

私は、人ではない
雨のように落下する

I continue to fall.

Even while I sleep, my persona is replicated outside of me, falling endlessly like rain.

Existence is assigned to data, becoming images that shape reality. Within a world where those images continue to expand, I am drawn toward the horizontal, only to be hurled against a wall like the earth itself and reduced to ash. Yet the ash of those images merges with new images and enters the cycle once more.

The 157 images, as if devoted to a single place with unwavering love, fall deeply into attachment and return there again and again.

I am not human.
I fall like rain.

神奈川県出身、東京拠点の美術家・中谷優大。ひとつの出来事を人間・社会・動物・植物・時間・機械など複数の視点から記述し、その集まりをひとつの空間に並置する。プロジェクトは「Case」として番号を持ち、出来事があるかぎり増えつづける

Yuta Nakatani is an artist born in Kanagawa and based in Tokyo. He revisits a single event from multiple perspectives—human, society, animal, plant, time, machine—and juxtaposes these descriptions within one space. Each project is numbered as a “Case,” and as long as events occur in the world, the Cases continue to grow.
