《ベルリンの壁ふたたび》The Berlin Wall Again

「ベルリンの壁崩壊」1989年11月9日、写真家・前田敏行がフィルムに収めた崩壊前夜40年前のベルリンと欧州諸国の写真。
37年前、ベルリンの壁が崩壊したあの時、私たちは誰しも来るべき自由で平和な未来を夢見はしなかったか？　しかし今やその期待はすっかり裏切られ、以前のナショナリスティックな閉塞感が世界を覆っている。

When the Berlin Wall fell thirty-seven years ago, did we not all dream of a future defined by freedom and peace? Yet today, those expectations have been utterly betrayed, and the world is once again shrouded in a stifling atmosphere of nationalism.

JR西荻窪駅の北口、ライフ超えて２本目の道を左折、左角に赤い屋根のたばこと自動販売機が目印。住宅地の細い路地奥にある１軒家のギャラリー。

前田敏行は写真家。和光大学人間関係学科卒業。写真表現を通して人と社会を見つめ、国内外で作品を発表している。
