桃井第四小の児童たちの参加を得て、秩序への人間の欲望を象徴する『グリッド』（格子）を探求し、
それに抵抗する映像作品を制作しました。

I have created a videowork involving the participation of students from Momoi Daishi Elementary School that explores—or resists—the “grid” as a motif representing the human desire for order and control.

イギリス出身。山梨県を拠点に活動している。映像やドローイング等、様々な要素で構成されたインスタレーションを通し、人間と自然の関係性を探求している。日本における自然界と人工的な環境から着想を得て、作品を展開してきた。
アジアを中心に、国内外で作品を発表。

Artist. Born in the UK. Based in Yamanashi Prefecture. Working across a broad range of media, his practice is underpinned by an interest in exploring people’s relationship to the natural environment. His work has been shown in Japan and internationally.
