《桃四式 毛器（ももししき けき）》 Momoshi-style Keki: Wool Pottery

古着の羊毛や梱包材などの廃品を使い、土器や陶磁器といった文化的価値を持つ「器」を模して作り「毛器（けき）」と名付けました。
今回は、縄文土器と縁ある地域の桃井第四小学校の子ども達と「桃四式 毛器（ももししき けき）」を作ります。
捨てられゆくものから作品をつくり、日々の流れに「抗う」体験をします。

Using discarded materials such as wool from old clothes and packaging waste, I create objects modeled after culturally significant earthenware, ceramics and other vessels. I named these objects keki, literally meaning “hair vessels”.
For this exhibition, I will create “Momoshi-style Keki” together with children from Momoi Daishi (abbreviated as “Momoshi”) Elementary School, a school located in a region with historical ties to Jomon pottery. By transforming into artworks what would otherwise be discarded, this project offers an experience of resisting the flow of everyday life.

■プロフィール／Profile

2011年より「ごみとはりで あたらしいものをつくる」をコンセプトに制作。
役割を終えた「廃品＝ごみ」と、細く・手芸や家内労働を思わせる「針＝はり」といった、捨てられた物や一見弱い存在を用いて、平面絵画や立体、絵本など多様な作品を生み出している。
