《動物たちの扉 》Doors of Animals

本作品は、善福寺公園の各所に点在する複数の「とびら」からなる。自然のなかに突如として現れる、鮮やかな色合いの扉には、東京の自然に住まう動物たちのシルエットが原寸大で浮かび上がる。本作品は見る者に、東京に息づきながらも人間の活動により追いやられ、ひっそりと暮らす動物たちの存在を喚起する。

This work consists of multiple “doors” scattered throughout Zempukuji Park.
The brightly colored doors that suddenly appear in nature feature life-sized silhouettes of animals inhabiting Tokyo’s nature. This work reminds viewers of the existence of animals that breathe life quietly in this huge city, driven away by human activities.

建築、まちづくりに取り組む山本と、医学の研究を行う川本からなる異色のユニット。普段は日米をオンラインでつなぎ活動している。動物や自然の営みに着想を得ながら、人と自然の関わり方を問いかける作品などを制作。六甲ミーツ・アート2023などに出展。

A unique unit with Akito Yamamoto, an architect, and Ryo Kawamoto, a biomedical researcher, working online between Japan and the US. Inspired by the activities of animals and nature, they create works that explore the relationship between people and nature. Their works have been exhibited at events like Rokko Meets Art 2023.
